Saturday’s stunning loss to North Dakota might have felt unprecedented to Montana Grizzly football fans – and that’s because it was. In 7+ seasons with the Griz, Bobby Hauck had never lost back-to-back conference games. So a bye week couldn’t come at a better time.
The first month of the season couldn’t have gone much better for Bobby Hauck. Except for a bad 4th quarter at Western Illinois, the Montana Grizzlies have looked every bit the part of a playoff team, and head into homecoming with a lot of confidence after a 48-28 win at Cal Poly Saturday.
For as good as the Montana State Bobcats offense looked Saturday in a 43-23 win over Portland State, the defense was every bit as impressive. The Cats defense held the Vikings to more field goals – three – than touchdowns – two.
