GREAT FALLS – Thursday was national signing day for all sports other than football, and Great Falls High School honored seven college bound athletes at an afternoon ceremony in the library.

Five of the athletes will stay in town and attend the University of Providence. Jordan Komac, Russell Wienholz and Travis Tomei will all join the highly successful Argo wrestling program.

Molly Schmitz, whose father Jerry Schmitz is an Argo hall of famer, signed with coach Bill Himmelberg and the women’s basketball program. Bison golfer Keaton Sunchild will swing the clubs for Nick Jankiewicz and the Argos next year.

The class also include two athletes signing with NCAA division one programs. Dani Devlin inked with Idaho State volleyball, while distance runner Teagan Olson signed with the Montana State track and cross country teams.

“It’s really cool having everyone being able to sign at the same time,” said Olson who committed to MSU in December. “Having this many people from Great Falls High moving on to college sports is really amazing.”

“I think its super cool that all of us are going to the next level to continue in the sports we love,” added Devlin. “And I love that they decided to do this event because I feel like a lot of times no one knows, and I think it’s exciting that everyone knows about it now.”
